merry christmas!

Posted by dejibu in nyar!!

Been really busy buying, returning, exchanging and price adjusting stuff. Just today, I’ve been to 3 malls in a span of 6 hours. Crazy.

Sale alert! Danier and Tristan & America’s boxing day prices apply today. Banana Republic’s boxing day prices were marked yesterday. Try to get your gifts and purchases price adjusted if they were bought within 7-14 days (depends on store).

I’m so tired right now I fear I have no more energy to use for opening gifts. NOT! Lol.

Anyhow, have fun and keep safe people. You’ll hear from me on boxing day.

how to poop

The fact that he was walking around without his underwear is quite disturbing. But the fact that his dad had to wipe his ass is worse.

the addiction called shoppers points

Posted by dejibu in nyar!!

I’m not fond of consumer loyalty programs. Chronically bad is another way to describe it. I currently hold 13 AIR MILES Reward Miles, and I’ve had that card for eons. I can’t remember how many cards or memberships I’ve signed up for that requires collecting (stamps, points etc.) that have been wasted because I lack the dedication and interest for them.

My behaviour towards such things is greatly attributed to my impatience. Bella always tells me how impatient I am. Generally speaking, I am quite impatient. Whether it’s because of boredom or excitement, I get restless quite easily which in turn causes me to hurry, behave stupidly or do something impetuous.

Today I proved Belle wrong. I can be patient on certain things. Like my shoppers points. :)

The way it works is that for ever $1 CAD you spend at Shopper’s Drugmart, you get 100 points. There are certain times in a year where you can get more points, like their specific brand extra points or their n times points (where n is a number between 5 and 20). I make the most of those events by binging on Vichy shampoo and conditioner, and hair colour. Just from that you can deduce how many hair products I’ve tried/used/stashed under the sink.

And I horde all those points, waiting for the right time. And today was just perfect.

For today and tomorrow, you can redeem $200 CAD for every 75,000 (normally equivalent to $150 CAD). I started today’s shopping adventure with roughly 192,000 points. Yes, you read that right. I’ve been really patient. Oh, I’m so proud of myself! *pat on the back* *crazy tear*

I was thinking of spending my points by buying Sarah an 4G Ipod Nano. They had various digital cameras on stock, but alas no Ipods. That’s when I noticed the huge white box on shelf. It was a XBox 360 Ghost Recon bundle. In Shoppers. *GASP*

*thinking* (Why on earth would they have an XBox 360 in a drug store?!?!?)

After the initial shock, I asked the clerk how much it was. $450 CAD. Dammit, that’s awesome. No, it’s fckin awesome! I asked her to put one aside for me while I arrive at a consensus with Bella and my mom. Bella thought it was sick so she called Alan just in case he was interested.

I deliberated if I had enough points to buy the stuff I need to send back to the Philippines (you know, pamasko sent via door-to-door delivery). I was in the clear. I want it, I can get it if I want to. GO!!!! GO!!!! GO!!!!

So I lined up and bought one. I redeemed my 75,000 points and the bill came up to $312 CAD ($250 CAD plus 14% taxes). They only had 3 in stock and a couple was buying the 2nd one. One left. And that’s when Belle handed me the phone. It was Alan.

Alan: Do I want it?
Row: I dunno, do you want it?
Alan: Do I want it? Do I want it? Do I want it?

(pause)

Alan: I want it.. I want it.. I want it.. I want it………….

There goes another 75,000 points for Alan. That’s Alan’s next year birthday/christmas gift allowance right there. Lol. Alan now officially owes Belle $312 CAD.

After lugging the 360s to our cart, we finished the rest of my shopping. Redeemed another 75,000 points for a Smashbox makeup kit, mascara, an assortment of Calvin Klein and Davidoff mens and womens fragrances that were on sale, and combs. All in all, I spent $356 CAD in cash and $600 in redeemed points. That, IMHO, is some smart shopping people. Needless to say, I am very very very happy with my purchases.

On that note, I’ve updated my wishlist in accordance to my recent purchase. :)

I couldn’t contain my excitement from my purchases that I had to blog about it. Now that’s out of my system, I’m going back to studying for Law. After that comes Systems Management and Accounting. Whoopidoo..

Can’t wait for this week to be over so I can play some Ghost Recon. And hopefully somebody will get me Gears of War. Or a gift card so I can get Halo 3 next year.

I hope they get PS3s too. Maybe sometime next year. And while you’re at it, raise the amount of redeemable points so I can redeem let’s say 150,000 points for like, $500 CAD. Hahahaha. Now, that would be bloody awesome. Hell yeah! Fckin awesome!

*must contain excitement* Nuff of that. I shall resurface once more after finals.*V*

thoughts from a tired soul

angels and thieves - dala

You say I’m letting life slip by, and starlights wasted on sleeping eyes
I stare all night into the sky, when all these stars have long since died
I’ve woken up a thousand times, drawn the curtain, drawn the line
A thousand lives walk through my own,
I stand still and stand alone

I wish I could believe, in something bigger
In the space that lies between, the good and bad here
The angels and thieves are drinking coffee,
But I just want some sleep

An end to this day’s masquerade,
a suitcase packed and put away
The mirror is useless in the night,
I see myself between the light

I wish I could believe, in something bigger
In the space that lies between, the good and bad here
The angels and the thieves are drinking coffee

But I just want some time
Time, time, time
The angels and the thieves, are drinking coffee,
but I don’t want to sleep.

I wish I could believe, in something bigger
In the space that lies between, the good and bad here
The angels and the thieves, oh the angels and the thieves, are drinking coffee,
But I just want some sleep

my year-end prayer

Posted by dejibu in nyar!!

God,

Let me survive the year’s remaining days if not unscathed, at least wiser and stronger.

Let me meet my deadlines, whether work or school related. May my instructor be enthralled in the holiday spirit and be generous with marks.

Let me remember that intertwined with hard work are both tears of frustration from my adversities, and tears of joy from my small successes.

Let me be reminded that moments shared together no matter how short, are all worthwhile.

Let me not forgot the things that really matter.

Most of all, let me continue to be grateful for every day of my life.
