so long so long - dashboard confessional

Hand out the window
Floatin’ on air
Just a flip of the wrist
I’d be wavin’ you goodbye

Drive past the lifeguard stand
Where I sit around waiting for you to remember
Well past the beach hotels
Where the girls are getting’ bronzed on their monogrammed towels

I drive this ocean road
And remember

Chorus:
How the girls could turn to ghosts before your eyes
And the very dreams that led to them are keeping them from dying
And how the grace with which she walked into your life
And stay with you in your steps , pace with you a while
For so long, so long
so long so long

The speaker in this door is blown
So nothing sounds quite right
And I drive this ocean road
And I remember
The small of your back
And the nape of your neck
And the soft way you’d hold me in the night

I remember

(chorus)

so long, so long x6

(Interlude of da da dum…)

And I will leave under the cover
Of summer’s kiss upon the sky
Like the stone face of your lover
Just before she says goodbye
I was thinkin’ that the season could be held between my arms
But just as summer’s hold is fleeting
I was here but now I’m gone
I’m gone

I’m gone, I’m gone x5

(interlude of da da dum…)

is everything with superman supersized?

Posted by dejibu in nyar!!

I watched Superman Returns today with the people at work. My boss had the brilliant idea and took everybody from work to catch the 12 noon show at Famous Players IMAX. We left at 11:15, got back at 3. And from then on, we were all working like crazy. Another reason why I’m still working at 11 PM EST. Sigh. What a way to spend a wednesday, eh?

Adrianna from work can’t get over the fact that Brandon Routh has super-sized thighs. And what’s with those boots? Ok, maybe superman is an old-school icon but I don’t remember Christopher Reeve’s boots being that clunky. Interesting though: Superman’s costume is wicked. He flies faster than the speed of sound and it doesn’t burn or deteriorate yet it gets punctured by kryptonite. And the texture of the material looks very synthetic and not the hand-stitched kind so somebody has to manufacture it, right? He must order it somewhere and somebody must know who he really is. I mean come on, how many people would actualy wear a blue body suit with a red cape that will drag and attached underwear worn above tights? Not many I suppose. Plus that can’t be cheap either.

I tell yeah, Superman has the makings of a exceptional stalker, with his x-ray vision, whoosh-whoosh abilities and floating-in-mid-air-while-looking-into-lois-lane’s-kitchen-window tactics. Ahh… The things I would do is I was Superman… Lol.

Either way, he’s hot. Bloody oozing hot. I know I said he only looks hot in certain angles (still true), but overall he is hot. Looking at those muscles will leave any woman hot and bothered. Especially in that scene where they stripped off his costume. Holy. *wipes drool* Lol. And honestly, you can’t help your gaze from gravitating to his crotch and wonder if the rumour that they had to digitally alter his crotch because something was too big for a family-oriented movie (the same way they altered Lindsay Lohan’s boobs in the Herbie movie because they were too big). I wonder…

The movie may be riddled with a lot of cheesy lines but all that action plus Brandon Routh’s muscles plus Kevin Spacey makes up for it. Besides, quoting Lois Lane, “every woman was (is) in-love with Superman”.

My dad’s not much of a movie-goer, but he’s highly recommended seeing Superman. So go see it. Dun worry buddies, you dun need to twist my arm to go Brandon love again. :)

New Billy Talent is out!!!

Perfect World - Billy Talent (lyrics)

All we shared was a mattress, and a lie, and an address
Baby I don’t need you, well baby I don’t need you
Once occupied by a goddess, now it’s a room full of boxes
She said, “it’s time to leave you” but baby I don’t need you!

Chorus:
In a perfect world… her face would not exist
In a perfect world… a broken heart is fixed
In a perfect world… I’d see no therapist
In a perfect world… this wouldn’t make me sick

I never got the whole story, not ’til after she left me
Baby I don’t need you, well baby I don’t need you
Word on the street is she fucked him, while we were playing in Cleveland
Well baby I don’t need you, you’re fading in my rearview

(Chorus)

She pulls the trigger until the gun goes click!
She pulls the trigger until the gun goes click!
In a perfect world… her face would not exist
In a perfect world… this wouldn’t make me sick!

Control-Alt-Deleted
Control-Alt-Deleted
Control-Alt-Deleted
Reset my memory!

(Chorus)

In a perfect world… this wouldn’t make me sick
She pulls the trigger until the gun goes click! (x3)
She pulls the trigger until the gun goes…

lessons to remember

Posted by dejibu in nyar!!

I have to admit I’ve had a rough year. It’s ridiculous how you can try to fool yourself. It’s been emotionally trying but I’ve learned a lot this year. About myself, the people around me and what I want in life. About the need to grow and surround myself with people who genuinely care.

Here are my notes to self..

1. I am capable of loving somebody more than I love myself.
2. You can’t appreciate real love until you’ve been burned. And you don’t know what you’ve got until you say goodbye.
3. There are 2 kinds of liars: the white liar and the pathological liar. Know the difference.
4. A person who forces you to bend your principles is not one you should associate with.
5. Emotional cheating IS still cheating.
6. Loving somebody will never be a waste of time and energy, whether or not it was the forever kind.
7. The worst thing you can make a person feel is not hate towards him but disappointment in him.
8. Even a heartache has its benefits. i.e. weight loss
9. Learn to forgive yourself for your mistakes.
10. Trust is more important than monogamy.
11. Don’t ask anybody to do something you yourself are not willing to do.
12. Forgiving is god-like but forgetting is utterly impossible.
13. Life is not black or white. There are different shades of gray.
14. Distance is no excuse to let friendships die.
15. Real friends don’t judge. Instead they will listen, hug you before you ask for one and will cry in your place.
16. People excel when you least expect them.
17. Accepting one’s humanity does not mean you’re weak.
18. Conflict is necessary but is detrimental in excess.
19. The beauty in the life is the unexpected.
20. Don’t worry about the small things. Things have a way of working themselves out.
21. Dig in. Let loose. Live with no regrets.
22. Remember the happy times.
23. The right words can heal a person’s soul. The wrong words can also crush it.
24. I am fat and I am beautiful. And fucking fabulous.
25. Karma. The Universe has a way of balancing itself.
26. I am not a missing piece. I am an O. And someday I shall find my ‘O’.

*****************************************

I was moping before about not getting any snail mail cards for my birthday. When I got home I got three from Maan. She’s certainly outdone herself. Thank you darling.

And thank you to ate myh, Maya, Ed and Car for the birthday greets!

strike a pose

Posted by dejibu in music, nyar!!

I’ve gotten a number of greets today. Shout out to Joy (who sent a txt msg and a msg via friendster), John (who called for greets and work-out invitation), my tita Aled who woke me up today, my tita Lyn who called yesterday, Louie who stayed home with the dynamic duo no. 2 (she has the runs, no excuse for the duo), Stee (all the way from Singapore), Jebbs again and Les. Oh and Belle who dropped by room when midnight struck and sneaked out with my DS Lite. Lol.

Today has been busy with work and despite that I’m falling asleep. Times like these we need Kayam around. But we’ll settle for some Madonna.

This song is for Les who just had a relapse. Get ready to play this real loud and dance like crazy in the middle of your room. Come on, cheer up and vogue!

Vogue - Madonna (lyrics)

Look around everywhere you turn is heartache
It’s everywhere that you go (look around)
You try everything you can to escape
The pain of life that you know (life that you know)

When all else fails and you long to be
Something better than you are today
I know a place where you can get away
It’s called a dance floor, and here’s what it’s for, so

Chorus:
Come on, vogue
Let your body move to the music (move to the music)
Hey, hey, hey
Come on, vogue
Let your body go with the flow (go with the flow)
You know you can do it

All you need is your own imagination
So use it that’s what it’s for (that’s what it’s for)
Go inside, for your finest inspiration
Your dreams will open the door (open up the door)

It makes no difference if you’re black or white
If you’re a boy or a girl
If the music’s pumping it will give you new life
You’re a superstar, yes, that’s what you are, you know it

(chorus, substituting “groove” for “move”)

Beauty’s where you find it
Not just where you bump and grind it
Soul is in the musical
That’s where I feel so beautiful
Magical, life’s a ball
So get up on the dance floor

omedeto tanjobi dejibu!

Posted by dejibu in nyar!!

By the time I finish this post, it would be the 26th. Good job Row, you got to your champagne birthday. Relatively healthy, but alive and kicking. Let’s work on the healthy part for the rest of the year, shall we?

The birthday bash was held at the Fox & Fiddle. I just realized we pretty much ate chicken wings, calamari and nachos, but the company was great. Three hours flew by without anybody noticing except for busy bodies Bev, Jilen and John. Bev lives on a married-couple schedule, Jilen had church early the next day (she’s part of the choir) and John had women/DUI concerns. Bev and Jilen haven’t seen each other in about 3 years and it was a reunion of sorts for the Humber people. I’m just happy Jilen came despite having to wake up early and Bev came coming all the way from Brampton. John’s flicker partner was a no-show because of studies (sarcastic comment witheld), as well as Joy who said she had work and Princess who seems to have disappeared off the face of the planet.

Highlights of the night are Mhe getting drunk, Mark and the articles joke, Bella and her questions as to why a person has hair in the nether regions (for friction she says), the “asian” curse, Bev getting a house in Brampton, shocked looks on Bev and Mark’s face upon news of The Great Unpleasantness, a revelation that Jilen has a xanga stalker (hahaha, sorry it was sorta funny) and onslaught of “we thought he was a jerk because..” comments.

The comments were based on real-life interaction with kintama. Bev’s was “oh, wow, I can’t believe that.” These people are so nice they didn’t want to speak ill of kintama before because we were still together. Great thing about break-ups is that you come to realize how badly you’ve been denying to yourself all that person’s faults. I mean, I still believe he was the nicest guy I knew (take note past tense), but that doesn’t count anymore since he was also the biggest fucking man-whore who just taught me the great lessons associated with a broken heart. Lol, I sounded so bitter there. Oh well.

But enough of that. I’m really had fun last night, and it wasn’t because of the alcohol consumption (2 huge glasses of Stella Artois, 1 single cranberry vodka, 1 double cranberry vodka, 1 mike’s hard cranberry, 1 huge glass of Strawberry Zinfandel) either. Great company, lots of laughs and catching up.

Thank you people. I’d say it’s the best birthday I’ve had. I’d rather be with few people I actually like than be swarmed by a crowd with whom I have to act like I actually give a shit about. No offense, pretense is very tiring. And I’ve come to that point in my life to know that (1) I’m a bad hostess, (2) I wear my heart on my sleeve and my true emotions show regardless how hard I try to hide them and (3) if I can’t have fun at my own birthday then what’s the point in celebrating it. So smaller parties from now on, and if you’re invited then you’re uber-cool (because you have me as a friend hahahaha j/k).

It would’ve been better if the UIM lot were there too but alas, funny buddy was in Ohio and we needed him to keep the devils at bay. Hopefully we’d be able to go for drinks the weekend after canada day weekend, or whenever Robbie comes back from the cottage.

I’ve uploaded the pics so give it a browse.

I got some wicked gifts for my birthday. Bella got me blue Coach slippers and a $25 gift card at Indigo. Mark got me a $20 gift certificate for Cineplex theatres. Bev got me a $50 gift card from Futureshop. Louie got me Eternity Summer with a freebie blue bag. *shrieks with joy* And dynamic duo no. 2 Abi and Mhe got me a DS light with the new Super Mario Bros. *more shrieks of joy* Happy happy happy happy me!!!!

Been trying to stave away advances towards the DS Lite from Belle and Alan, but Belle won and is now enjoying my new DS Lite. Howell..

I’ll be having dinner with the family tomorrow, preferably at a japanese place. I guess it largely depends on the mood. My dad’s not much a fan for all-you-can-eats. We’ll see.

Anyhow, thanks for the greets from BryMac and Mida.

crashing and phoneless

Posted by dejibu in nyar!!

June 24, 2006 11:29 AM Note: I have my phone back. Missed 6 calls.. Hmm.. who could it be?

I went to bed round 4 am yesterday coz I got caught up on reading manga. Lol, I’m such a dweeb sometimes.

I’m surprised I even managed to stay awake today. Today was a crazy busy day. I had babygrande, cineplex and some major f-spec work today. Too busy for a lunch run, we ordered Domino’s pizza, too bad no discounts. I was running on coffee and pizza, gave up on work 5:30ish. Was in such a hurry to go home because Belle, Alan and I were going to meet Mikhey, that I forgot to bring my phone with me. I still remember leaving it sitting beside my work phone. Crap.

So if you’re wondering where I’ve been, well, nowhere near my phone. I will be heading to work tomorrow to pick it up, hopefully early enough just in case Mikhey takes me along to this secret sale of theirs. So secretive is this sale that I have no idea what the sale’s on, all I know is it’s Coach. We’ll see tomorrow how it goes.

We headed to Yorkdale today because Belle needed to return a top at Zara. I ended up buying pointy shoes and snuck in line before Belle. Hahahaha.. I’m sooooo evil. The line up was to the door too. But nothing kills guilt better than a nice pair of shoes.

Overhauling a wardrobe is an investment. I got a navy blue button shirt ($30) and a white blue-pin-striped pair of pants ($54) from Banana Republic. Yesterday I got blue and brown linen cardigans ($30 each) and navy blue stretch top from BanRep too. As you can see I love BanRep, maybe as much as I love the color blue, Starbucks and congee. I used to come to Yorkdale’s BanRep so often that one of the sales associates, Lee, always greets me with “welcome back!”

There’s certain stores that I have sales people I keep returning to. Like David from Eaton’s Esprit (who’s moved on to better things), Lee from Yorkdale’s BanRep, and Linda from Vaugh Mills’ Benetton. Shopping is a sickness when you have a _____ (enter store name) guy/girl.

I changed my blog’s title yesterday. I got the quote from Kayam who read it from some obscure book. I found it very proud so I used it. I think I’m going through my phases very lately. A positive attitude requires a positive outlook, so there you go.

Hopefully by afternoon I’d have my phone with me. Just in case you can’t come for dinner, call me or send me a txt msg. Be forewarned it’s pride weekend too so expect longer travel times and more people downtown. Other than that, kitakits!
